Provides design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy. Develops enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features. Uses a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications to customers. Provides expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business. Determines specifications, then plans, designs, and develops the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes—either individually or in concert with project team. Will assist in the most difficult support problems.
Develops programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse. Has in-depth knowledge of state-of-the art programming languages and object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs. Understands and consistently applies the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies. Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business. Viewed both internally and externally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines. Acts as an internal consultan


Applications Architect is expected to leverage technology to streamline and smooth the execution of the organization’s business strategies. Must be able to make high-level design choices and dictate technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms for the enterprise. Address the conceptual/planning level of the application architecture in collaboration with other architects focused on the needs of the technology, business and information architectures. Provides the reusable standards, guidelines, patterns and frameworks to application development projects, including those related to application architecture. At the project-level, verify that all aspects of the application solution architecture are optimized (as much as possible given other constraints of time and budget) by working with subject matter experts (SMEs) in the areas of technology, information and application architectures and disciplines.


10+ years as a software architect, lead developer, or development manager
10+ years of broad experience working with development technologies including Microsoft .NET (C#), ASP.NET/MVC, WCF/WebAPI, SQL Server, JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Durandal, Knockout, etc.), REST, XML, JSON, HTML, and CSS
Expert level knowledge and understanding of FDOT architecture, applications systems design and integration, highly desired
Knowledge of development methodologies including waterfall and agile
Skilled in the use of multiple development technologies including Microsoft .NET (C#), ASP.NET/MVC, WCF/WebAPI, SQL Server, JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Durandal, Knockout, and others), REST, XML, JSON, HTML, and CSS
Skill in architecting and deploying high volume, high transaction based, distributed and redundant web applications
Skill with Microsoft SQL and other Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) including Oracle
Skilled in verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service
